We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.
To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.
This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.
Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.
If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email
Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:
Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all of the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.
These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.
Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside of it.
Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.
We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers), both for Windows and for MAC users.
Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs, there may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to
are you going to continue to write book 2
Episode #2 is out; did you miss it?
Wow, Sadie! These rewrites are AMAZING! At first, when you said you were going to revamp the series I didn’t see the need because they were already so good but you magically made it ten times better! I feel more connected to the characters(not just Dorian and Wylie). Like Theodore has quickly become a favorite. And I want to know more about Rob now lol. Even the social worker XD! Oh and the new villain too! He seems very interesting. The world-building is phenomenal! You have such a talent with immersing the reader into the universe to the point where they don’t even want to stop reading until there are no more words to devour. I can’t wait for the story to unfold more(I wish I could hop into your mind so it would never stop XD). It’s absolutely amazing! Thank you for all your hard work! 🙂
Thank you so much! *glomp*
I was super worried about it all–I know my writing style has changed drastically with all the detail and stuff… but I like it. I really do–I love watching the characters come to life and tell their story. It’s a relief to know readers of the first can still enjoy the serial even with all the changes. <3
Theodore is fucking shining, yeah?! XD He is my fav element of chaos. Michael is going monster hunting, Rob has some fun surprises in wait--I'm really glad I let the adults have a voice too, cuz they're bringing experience on top of all the teen angst. Lol, just wait until Fox and Vincent start their squabbling--pure freaking joy with those two. I'm seriously looking forward to their story arc after Wylie and Dorian's. 😉
I only came across Demon Arms 3 weeks ago, got myself a copy and wow fell in love with your writing. I am a big reader, huge actually, I don’t watch TV and rarely watch movies. But I will read a book a day. After enjoying Demon Arms so much I went looking to see if you had written any more and to my utter delight you have gone back and expanded, taking an already good book and making it BRILLIANT!! It is obvious that you are more comfortable now as an author, your character growth as well as teasers, sneak peaks into the other characters – hooks that make you want their story too are so well developed. I really hope you are proud of these rewrites, not that there was anything wrong with the first book but wow you have really hit it with the new PATB series. Having read all three books now as well as signed up and devoured your WIPS I am impatient to see just what happens next. I also love that you have given us a peak to life for the teachers, what happens up those stairs after class is over.
It truly is a joy to read your story and it is a story not a cookie cutter – sex, talking, sex, does he like me, sex – well you know what I mean. Reading the struggles other than “he likes me, he likes me not” are for me the best part because they make the intimate moments more meaningful. By intimate I don’t just mean the sex either, but those moments when you feel like you’re eavesdropping on a really private conversation, add in the element of danger that is just waiting for these kids (and Theo) on the other side of the fence, phew, your stories are the opposite of boring. So thank you very much for taking the time to put these words together and creating true entertainment. I’ll just go over here into the corner of the room and rock silently in withdrawal until your next release.
Hey Hilly! This was such a sweet comment. ♥ I like to think I’m growing as a writer– don’t get me wrong, I do love the sexy stories– but I’m really the kind of person who refuses to settle for just one thing. It bugs me that most good stories aren’t really ‘supposed’ to be sexy too, like someone made this dumb rule that if you want to have a sexy story, that’s all it can be, and don’t you dare try to sex up a good story because those two aren’t allowed to touch. It’s the industry, if I’m real about it–like how R rating are the death of a lot of movies because ‘reasons’– and then it becomes normalized by peeps who read the same stuff again and again and want to tell others what a book is ‘supposed’ to be. But yeah, fuck all that. Lets have some sexy with our suspense and crazy plots and fun! XD
One of my biggest reasons for jumping back into PATB for a rewrite was when I was working on Fox and Vince’s story, slowly building something with Raider and Michael… and Forest… and Leo (and whoever that confused raccoon teen targets to save him from his own anxiety @_@) I realized I wanted to let Wylie and Dorian connected properly. I mean, on this check the box level, it worked the first time– they were perfect for each other because of the aspects of their inherent magic. But I never felt like they had a chance to really fall in love, or push each other as people to grow and be better. Yeah, it was implied, but I also wanted a chance to show it. They have this wild, explosive love yet never went on a date or really talked more than 3-4 times in the novel. It felt like something worth expanding.
Ha, and I’m super glad you’re enjoying the insight into the caretakers. I realized being patients really limited the vantage of the story and just how tough the world is that these guys are living in. They’re at the Academy because of problems out in the world, but they’re protected from most bad coming at them at the same time while there. It’s hard to make a place feel like a sanctuary when you never see what the Academy is protecting the patients from. It made everything feel so small and focused, but kinda removed the stakes. And, well, it’s kinda nice to have a somewhat more mature view on things (if you can call Theo mature. ? *cough*) They become these good and not so ideal examples of what broken people look like if they keep pushing to be better instead of letting the bad things in their past define them, all while in a really tough world. I like that they’re all works in progress so the patients can see that they don’t need to ‘fine’ just so long as they’re moving toward fine. You don’t have to be perfect to help others get better.
I hope to get the next book out soon. I’m just trying to get my brains straight after the last mold attack, and I’m currently working on Demon Bonded–it’s been a while since I updated, and I think it’s a good story to transition me back into writing consistently again. That said PATB Serial #3 is mostly written, the outline is updated to get things a little more interesting, and once I do return focus there, it should fly pretty quick. ^^ Hope your weekend is going great, and thanks again for the wonderful comment. It really brightened my day.
Hi! I loved the first book, but I’ve heard there might be a rewrite??? Could you drop a link for this amazing Universe?
